October 27, TuesdayStep through the gate of Laurel Hill Gardens at 8125 Germantown Avenue and what will you see? Of course there will be well-kept, gorgeous plants, but depending on the day, you might also see people taking seasonal workshops, listening to live bands, picking up free compost, or gathering with others for a group meeting. Even during the fall, Laurel Hill provides garden inspiration.
Saturdays: Laurel Hill’s free Saturday workshops beginning at 11 a.m. and cover an assortment of topics on gardening and homemade crafts.
Sundays: Enjoy listening to great local bands and sip free beverages every Sunday from 2 - 4 p.m. for as long as the weather allows.
Garden Cash: The Garden Cash for Clunkers program, which runs through the end of the fall season, lets customers trade in tuckered-out perennials for $4.50 off the cost of a new one. The old perennials will be turned into compost, so bring your own container to collect some of the compost free of charge.
Garden Setting: Local businesses and organizations are encouraged to use Laurel Hill’s inspiring outdoor venue for meetings and gatherings without charge from March through December. Call manager Susan Dannenberg for details.
