Pam at The Hill Tea Bar Hill Tea Bar: A Local Gem with Big Plans
October 30, FridayJust off Germantown Avenue lies a small tea shop that is not to be missed. The Hill Tea Bar represents all the tradition of Chestnut Hill while bringing a new and intrepid entrepreneurship to the local business community.
Starting this holiday season, Pam McLaughlin, owner and operator of the Hill Tea Bar, will offer her own blend of specialty teas to a national clientele through a custom online store. One of the specialty blends up for sale will be Strawberry Fields Green Tea, a pan-fried green tea blended with dried strawberries, which Pam describes as “light-bodied with a delicate, fresh strawberry aroma reminiscent of summertime.” If it’s too cold to imagine summer, consider trying Masala Chai, described as “rich black tea from India blended with cardamom, black & pink peppercorn, ginger, star anise and cinnamon. Simply perfect with a drop of honey and a splash of milk.”
What does online purchasing mean for Chestnut Hill locals? A friend in California will be able to share your love of green tea. A relative in New York will finally be able to taste your beloved blend. Your favorite dining spot will have the option to carry Pam’s teas.
Breaking ground in the specialty tea industry is not new for Pam. Her book, "Tea Fusions for Real Life from The Hill Tea Bar," showcases her knowledge and gives useful and down-to-earth tea advice for healthier, happier living.
Stop by the Hill Tea Bar the next time you’re on the Avenue and come experience the charm of forward thinking, blended with an ancient art of the senses.
