Build Family Stories at Valley Green Inn; Take Home your Handmade Wreath

Make your own family story this holiday season on Saturday, December 4, 2010 by creating a decorated evergreen wreath together at the Valley Green Inn.

The Friends of the Wissahickon will fill the Valley Green Inn from noon to 4 p.m. with roasting chestnuts, warm apple cider, wreath design experts and a winter woods hike led by staff from the Wissahickon Envionmental Center. A Valley Green Inn lunch is included. This event combines FOW’s previously separate annual greens sale and wreath-making events.

The special family package of $75 serves all food, beverages, and one wreath for two adults and two children. Tickets are $30 per adult and $10 for children. The event is rain or shine.

FOW will have experts on hand to help you design your wreath, as well as a supply of holiday decorations to make it, such as western juniper with blue berries, incense-cedar with yellow tips, holly with red berries, and assorted white pine cones.
